Epiphany Consultants and Superintendent Brett Lovegrove, Head of Counter Terrorism at City of London Police (centre), presented Crisis Communication and Terrorism seminars at Coventry University (the UK's leading centre for the study of Business Continuity and Disaster Management) on the 28th February.

The morning presentation saw Epiphany consultant Darren Harrop (pictured far left) offer an insight into how stakeholder communications are managed in the event of an incident, citing examples from Gerald Ratner through to the 911 WTC attacks. He provided case studies to illutrate how the simple act of being in the media spotlight can exacerbate an already complex situation. Darren then provided Epiphany models to help students and practitioners evaluate the threat an incident may pose to an Organisation and its brand, along with some practical tools to enable proactive planning to deal with identifiable emerging threats.

Superintendent Lovegrove spoke after lunch, providing a clear insight into the Police Management of the July 7th London Underground bombings, and the overall approach of the City of London Police to the Threat of Terrorism. Brett then took questions from a packed audience of professionals and academics.
